Yesterdays weather - rain. Today - more rain. This week's forecast - rain, rain, rain. We've been in England now for over a month, and I can attest that it is true what they say about the weather...and the pubs but that is a seperate post.
There are two paths I can take to this new climate. I could close all the curtains and curl up on couch watching re-runs of Glee. Whilst (that is English for "while I am" ) doing this, I of course would have no makeup on (it will just get ruined in the rain), my hair will not be done (it just gets frizzy), and the dog could just go and have a pee in garden (that is English for YARD).
However I have never been one to shy away from a challenge. Over the past few days I have realized that overcoming less-than-desirable (that is English for Crappy) weather is simply to create The Mood...
How to create the "Rainy Day in England" Mood
- Purchase waterproof Mascara (check)
- Purchase divine Hunter wellies (check)
- Bring Medieval Babes CD into the car to play whilst (I love this word) driving around (check)
- Brew up some yummy tea (check)
- Tell the children that it feels good to smile even when you feel grey like the weather (check).
- Tell husband a Burberry purse and matching umbrella would make me happy (I am working on this one).
So you see, I have done this and it is still raining and I am happy. Seriously.
